If you know, or are related to any of the men in this photo, please
Although the information could not be confirmed due to the fact dad’s army number has been misplaced and such records at the Malta National Archives are subject to “a closure period of 80 years – applies to confidential documents”, Carmelo Rizzo however has served in the Royal Malta Artillery as Gunner on the Light Anti-Aircraft Bofors Guns. These guns were positioned all over Malta during WWII.
However, there is undoubtedly belief among family members that Dad was stationed at the Upper Barrakka, overlooking and defending Malta's famous Grand Harbour.
After the War, Dad worked at Malta's British Admiralty Dockyard, at the Superintendence Naval Stores Office (SNSO), as chargeman, from where he retried in 1967, at the age of 60. Carmelo Rizzo passed away on the 2nd January 1986, dearly loved and sadly missed -- Joseph Victor Rizzo.
Any information would be greatly appreciated and should be emailed to Joseph Victor Rizzo
