Whether you are a lover of Melitensia, or a Maltese person living away from home, or even a student researching the traditional music and song of the Maltse Islands, this book/CD has a lot of material that will arouse your interest.
The prime objective of this section is to explain a little better what kind of publication this is. For instance, the image showing the construction of the zaqq, below, constitutes two out of six pages on the subject, starting with some historical notes and going on to describe how the instrument is constructed, as well as indicating CD tracks 2 and 18 as zaqq music specimens.
We try NOT to lose too much of the book's excellent print quality in the enlarged images, though quality loss is inevitable, so please be a little patient while the full specimens download.
What follows is another example of the book's easy-to-follow style, this time treating the Kitarra, or guitar, which sometimes takes an awkward shape in Malta, as may be seen hereunder and in the picture that follows.
We hope you have enjoyed this presentation. For information with regards to obtaining the Book/CD, you may contact the author at info@rubenzahra.com.
